Aquatics
Pools and beaches are popular year-round facilities at Camp Pendleton. The aquatics program offers quality events, programs, and services for surfing, swimming and summer camps, which enhances the safe enjoyment of water.

Pools
Camp Pendleton has two pools that provide recreational and instructional swimming, lap swimming and unit training. Enjoy lap swimming year-round at the 14 area pool, which also provides lifeguard training and water safety courses. Pools have large sun decks and highly qualified lifeguards and instructors.
Notice: We will move the Sat lap swim operation to the 13 Area Pool and closing 14 Pool beginning Oct 1. The 13 Area Pool is open for lap swim from 10am-3pm.

Private Swim Lessons - 14 Area

Cost: $60 for four 30 min sessions
Private one-on-one lesson for stroke development, refinement and specific aquatic needs.
Aqua Aerobics Classes – 14 Area

Cost: Free
Class encompasses non-impact and non-weight bearing techniques in a heated outdoor pool. Warm-up and cardiovascular workout followed by strength training using provided aqua equipment. No class on rainy/stormy days.
Pendleton Youth Swim Club – 14 Area

Sep-May | Tue–Thu: 5:30-6:30pm
Cost: Free
Qualifications: Basic knowledge of each stroke with rhythmic breathing, ability to swim 100 meters without stopping, willingness to learn. Children will develop the ability to swim more consecutive laps and learn proper swimming techniques.
The SCUBA Center - 14 Area Mainside
A full service PADI 5 Star IDC Training Center providing instruction, sales, rentals, repair & dive travel. PADI Society members receive a free gift when they complete the special of the month. Visit the Scuba Center Website
Providing a safe recreational experience through teamwork, leadership and aquatic safety is the goal of the lifeguard programs at Camp Pendleton. Program content and guidelines emphasize safety and meet current and national standards.
Programs
- Jr. Lifeguard Program - provides a positive environment for teaching youth ocean safety skills, basic first-aid skills, respect for the coastal environment and discipline while promoting physical fitness, self-esteem and team building. Ages 9-17, 1-6 week programs, Del Mar Beach Resort/San Onofre Beach. Program runs during the summer. A big thank you to all of our Jr. Lifeguard participants for 2011. See you next year!

Lifeguards On Duty - Del Mar Beach Resort/San Onofre Beach
- Winter: 8am-4pm - late Oct to early Apr - lifeguards routinely patrol the area
- Spring: 8am-6pm - start of daylight savings (second Sun of Mar) until mid-June
- Summer: 8am-7pm – mid-June to Labor Day
- Fall: 8am-6pm - after Labor Day until the end of daylight savings (first Sun of Nov)
