Directions & Parking

Please watch for PMO signage and directions. PMO will guide you to the appropriate parking area when you arrive. Parking is on a first come, first served basis. The majority of this year’s Beach Bash will be park and walk only so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Handicapped parking will be available at the beach and (Formerly) Sharky’s. Trams will be available for those parking at (Formerly) Sharky’s only.

Tram Info

Trams will only run from Sharky’s parking to the beach and back.
Trams will not stop at any other parking areas.

From LAX/Los Angeles

Take the I-5 South
Exit 54C Oceanside Harbor Drive/Camp Pendleton
Make a Left on Harbor Drive
Enter MCB Camp Pendleton Main Gate (Stay in the far right lane upon entering)
Turn right onto Wire Mountain Rd
Turn right at the following intersection towards Del Mar Beach
Follow the overpass over Vandergrift and continue along the bridge that leads over the 1-5 into Del Mar Area
After crossing the bridges, the road becomes A Street
Turn left onto 12th St
End at Building 210841, Guest Services Office, on the right

From San Diego

Take I-5 North
Exit 54B Camp Pendleton
Enter MCB Camp Pendleton Main Gate (Stay in the far right lane upon entering)

Who can win the Ken Grody Ford Cash Prizes, and the Ford Focus?

All active duty, retired and reserve military personnel and their authorized dependents 18 years and older. WINNER MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN. If your name is drawn, you will have time only for “One Song” to report to the stage with your military identification.

Should I be prepared for high tide?

Yes. Always be prepared for high tide when at the beach.

Where do I go if I lose my child?

Please educate your children to go to the nearest Lifeguard Tower if they get lost. Lifeguards suggest using a permanent marker and writing the tower number on their hand of the closest one you’re sitting near.

Is handicapped parking available?

Yes. Traffic guards will direct handicapped patrons with the appropriate placard to parking areas

Will sunscreen, chairs, etc. be available for purchase?

Yes, sunscreen, chairs, boogie boards, sunglasses and other sundry items will be available.

Can I bring a keg, cooler, charcoal grill or firewood?

Coolers and small gas grills are permitted. No glass bottles, kegs, charcoal or large grills. Firewood is permitted for designated fire pits only.

Can I tailgate?

No, tailgating is not permitted.

Can I bring my pet(s)?

No, only service dogs are permitted.

Will Lifeguards be on duty?

Yes, lifeguard towers will be manned the entire day. Emergency and first aid services will be available.

What time does the beach open?

The beach opens at 6am.

I live in Del Mar housing. Will I have trouble getting to my house?

Housing residents may experience short delays, but will be permitted to come and go from their homes.

Can I bring civilian friends to the 4th of July Beach Bash?

Yes, authorized patrons may bring guests to the beach.

Can I bring a tent?

Yes, small tents may be set-up at the beach but will not be allowed directly in front of the stage. Tents are not allowed forward of the lifeguard towers.

Can I bring a Drone?

Drones are not allowed during the event.

How long is the fireworks show?

The show lasts approximately 30 minutes.
