School Age Childcare

School Age Care (SAC)

is available for children enrolled in elementary school. These programs meet the accreditation standards of the National After School Alliance (NAA) and are staffed by trained School Age Care providers.  All SAC programs comply with DoD standards for staff qualifications, program quality, safety, sanitation and nutrition. These planned and supervised programs are provided at Child Development Centers, Family Child Care homes and the elementary schools aboard the installation.

The Children, Youth & Teen Programs assist active duty and DoD civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of family life and accomplishing their mission, while improving the economic viability of the family unit.

This Branch provides a full range of services to support parents in raising their children. Services include parent information, education, out-of-home child care and youth services for ages 6 weeks to 18 years of age (still in school). Program components include: Resource and Referral, Child Development Centers, Family Child Care, Fisher Children's Center, Youth Programs and School Age Care. Children, Youth & Teen Programs Administrative Office is located in  Bldg. 13150

Resource & Referral: The Child Care Resource and Referral Office is staffed by knowledgeable professionals who can help parents:

  • Locate and select out-of-home infant, pre-school and school-age child care services on and off the installation.
  • Find services for children, including those with special needs.
  • Locate and select youth services on the installation.
  • Locate hourly and emergency child care.
  • Obtain a list of qualified FCC providers for full time, drop-in and evening care.
  • Access parenting videos and written materials.
  • Obtain information on Youth/Teen services.
  • Learn how to become a Family Child Care Provider.
Child Development Center (CDC)

Camp Pendleton has five full day Child Development Centers. These programs meet the accreditation standards of the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and are staffed by trained child care providers. All CDC's comply with DoD standards for staff qualifications, program quality, safety, sanitation and nutrition. The CDCs offer a variety of planned group and individual activities tailored to children's developmental needs.

  • Hourly Care is available at Fisher Children’s Center!  Monday – Friday 0730-1630 for children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age.  The fee is $4 per hour plus meals.  Reservations can be made up to one week in advance.  A maximum of 20 hours per week can be used.  Updated immunization cards are required for care. The Family Child Care Program (FCC) offers an alternative to center based care. Providers are trained, certified and monitored by the Family Child Care Program. They are qualified to offer child care in their homes aboard the installation.
FCC providers offer a variety of planned group and individual activities tailored to children's developmental needs.

FCC also provides employment opportunities for spouses living aboard the installation. Individuals can be trained and certified to become Family Child Care Providers. Providers are in great demand and can earn up to $1,200 a month while providing a service to the community.

RollerbladerYouth Programs: The Youth Programs operate three Youth Centers located in the DeLuz, Wire Mountain and San Onofre housing areas. The Youth Centers offer a variety of planned group and individual activities for children between the ages of 11 to 18 years of age (in school). Programs offered include teen leadership opportunities, field trips, camps during school breaks, dances and the popular annual Haunted House.
