Our mission is to improve the quality of life of our Marines, Sailors and their families. In order to execute this mission, the Hard Corps Race Series is refocusing the 2019 race schedule. All races with the exception of the Marine Corps Mud Run and the Tun Tavern Virtual Run will only be open to Active Duty, their families, retirees and DoD employees.  We will continue to offer The Marine Corps Mud Run and the Tun Tavern Virtual Run to all civilians as an opportunity to race and support our Marines. Please consider continuing to participate in the Hard Corps Races with one of these opportunities.

13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Rules & Regulations

  • Minimum participant age is 13 for 10K and 1/2 Marathon, 9 for 5K.
  • 1K Kid’s Run is for children ages 4-12.
  • Absolutely no headphones/ear buds allowed
  • Service and working dogs only
  • Event held rain or shine (unless deemed unsafe)
  • Pendleton Races has the right to modify the course if necessary for safety or base training exercises
  • If event is cancelled, you may transfer entry to another 2019 event (excluding the Marine Corps Mud Run®)
  • Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable
  • All competitors must be off the course by 11:45am

Military Discounts

Active Duty military members who are stationed aboard Camp Pendleton pay only $10 for race registration.

Active Duty military members who are not stationed aboard Camp Pendleton are eligible for a $5 discount on race registration.

On race morning, all Active Duty will need to show a valid military ID to pick up their race numbers.

Race Day

Driving Directions & Base Entry Requirements

A current driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance is required for vehicles entering the base. Passengers over the age of 18 must have current photo ID. Allow 30 min from the base gate to the race site.  When aboard the base, please follow all posted speed limits.  

From Interstate 5, take the Las Pulgas exit. Continue towards the Las Pulgas gate.

Have your registration, proof of insurance, and photo ID ready for the guard at the gate. From the main gate, follow the “RACE EVENT” signs along Las Pulgas Road for 3 miles to the race site.

Race Results, Awards & Photos

Results will be posted and updated throughout the event on site.

An awards ceremony for top 3 overall male and female for each course will take place at approximately 11am.

Division awards must be picked up the morning of the race – awards for top 3 in each division will be available for pick-up after 11am.

If you are unable to pick up your award, please contact the race office at (760) 725-RACE to arrange for your medal to be mailed ($10 fee). The last date to request a medal to be mailed will be May 10, 2019.

Final results and photos will be posted online the Friday following the event.
