The Children, Youth & Teen Programs assist active duty and DoD civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of family life and accomplishing their mission, while improving the economic viability of the family unit.

About CYTP

This Branch provides a full range of services to support parents in the raising of their children. Services include parent information, education, out-of-home child care and youth services for ages 6 weeks to 18 years of age (still in school). Program components include: Resource and Referral, Child Development Centers, Family Child Care, Drop In/Hourly Care, Youth Programs and School Age Care.

The Children, Youth & Teen Programs Administrative Office is located in Bldg. 13150. (on C street, off of 14th Street on Mainside). (760) 725-6308.

Resource & Referral

  • Locate and select out of-home infant, toddler, pre-school and school-age child care services on and off the installation. Care includes full day, part day, hourly and emergency care.
  • Find services for children, including those with special needs.
  • Obtain a list of qualified FCC providers for full time, drop-in and evening care.
  • Access parenting videos and written materials.

School Age Care (SAC)

School Age Care (SAC) is available for children enrolled in the elementary schools aboard base. These programs meet the accreditation standards of the National After School Alliance (NAA). Family Child Care (FCC)

The Family Child Care Program (FCC) offers an alternative to center based care. Providers are trained, certified and monitored by the Family Child Care Program. They are qualified to offer child care in their homes aboard the installation. Hours of service and ages of children are established by the FCC Provider. Options for care include full day, part day, hourly, extended day and 24 hour care.

 

Looking for a Job and Child Care?

FCC also provides employment opportunities for spouses living aboard the installation. Individuals can be trained and certified to become Family Child Care Providers.

Youth & Teen Programs

The Youth Centers offer a variety of planned group and individual activities for children between the ages of 10 to 18 years of age (in school). Programs offered include teen leadership opportunities, field trips, camps during school breaks, dances and the popular annual Haunted House.  Programs are Boys & Girls Club of America affiliated.

Family Child Care

Part Day

Camp Pendleton has part day enrichment programs within two of our CDCs.  The part day enrichment programs run according to the Fallbrook School year calendar (Sept-June).   The program uses the Creative Curriculum for Toddlers or Preschool.  The hours of care are 0800-1200 with a snack provided.  For more information please contact: Resource & Referral (760) 725-9723

Drop In or Hourly Care

Drop In and Hourly Care is available at Fisher Children’s Center Monday – Friday 0600-1800 for children ages 6 weeks-5 years of age. The fee is $4 per hour plus meals.  Reservations can be made up to one week in advance.  Updated immunization cards are required for care.  For more information, call Fisher Children’s Center, Monday thru Friday (760) 725-0845.

The mission of the School Liaison Officer aboard Camp Pendleton is to coordinate education support services to maximize opportunities for academic success for transitioning military children/youth. The School Liaison (SL) fosters and promotes quality education for military children by working directly with the command, families, school districts, and local communities, and by providing referral services to family support agencies aboard MCB Camp Pendleton and in the local community.

Our Goals:

  • Identify best practices to foster academic success and a smooth transition of Marine school-age children for Camp Pendleton’s military families.
  • Promote parent and community involvement in youth education.
  • Develop and coordinate school and community partnership initiatives.
  • Provide Camp Pendleton’s parents the tools to overcome obstacles to academic success that children, encounter as a result of the military lifestyle.
  • Educate local school districts and communities about the needs of military school-age children and the military lifestyle.
