Frequently Asked Questions's (FAQ's)

1) Does MCX have Gift Cards for purchase similar to outside Department Stores?
Yes, MCX offers Gift Cards for purchase at all of it's Main Exchange Stores, you can choose the exact amount that you wish to give and be comforted in knowing the MCX Gift Card is accepted at all MCX locations and redeemable at any retail selling store (including all convenience stores and military clothing facilities). A great gift idea for that hard to buy for family member or friend.

2) "How long do I have to wait before I can use my Star Card, once I'm qualified"?
"Instantly! Once you have qualified for your new Star Card, a temporary card will be issued to you which can be used immediately. Your permanent card will arrive in 2 - 4 weeks, so your temporary card will serve you until it arrives"

3) "Will MCX price match with outside retailers"
"Yes, MCX will match any competitor's current locally advertised price on any identical item sold by MCX. If the price difference is $ 5.00 or less between the outside retailer's price and the price at MCX, simply inform the sales associate and they will will approve the difference on the spot! If the amount is over $ 5.00 just bring in the current ad from the local market area ( generally within a 50 mile radius) and MCX will be happy to honor the price."

"MCX will also price match guarantee any item purchased from MCX and subsequently sold at a lower price by MCX, or any local competitor within 14 days of the sale, just bring in your receipt and we will adjust it". ( some restrictions apply, see store for details)

4) Do I have to apply for a credit card to be a member of the Officers' Club or SNCO Club?
Yes, the Marine Corps has directed that all club cards be issued by Chase Bank. Chase processes all charges as well as dues payments. You do not have to use the credit card feature, you simply must apply for the credit card and allow the bank to process your dues payments through your credit card account.

5) Why is tax charged on purchases at McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Burger King, etc.?
These businesses are contracted with Camp Pendleton and are required by law to pay state and local sales taxes.

6) Where can I book a wedding reception?
Wedding receptions are held at the South Mesa SNCO Club, the San Luis Rey Officers' Club, Sharky's Officers' Club and the Golf Course. Wedding ceremonies can also be conducted at these locations.

8) Where can I get a refund for money lost in a vending machine, arcade game, laundromat, or car wash on base?
Refunds may be obtained at any MCX Exchange, or at the Country Store, Bowling Alley, 20 Area Beverage Center; and Lake O'Neil Recreation Center

9) A vending machine in our office is out of order/product, who do we call for service?
