Race Details

Ooh-Rah! The Toujours Fidèle – Tour de Camp Pendleton on October 3rd is fast approaching! Please read our helpful race-day information below.


Please print your waiver. You must bring a signed waiver to pick up your race number on Saturday morning.


To enter the Base, you must bring a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration for yourself and a valid ID for all passengers. From I-5: Exit Cristianitos Road, at the northern part of Camp Pendleton, near San Clemente. Proceed east 1-mile until you reach the entrance to Camp Pendleton. After entering the base, turn right on Cristianitos Road and proceed a couple of miles until you reach Camp San Mateo (Area 62). Follow race event signs to the designated parking lots. Allow 15 minutes from the base gate to the race site. When aboard the base, please follow all posted speed limits. If you plan to ride your bike to the race site from the San Clemente area, please have a copy of your race confirmation email in addition to a valid ID. Only registered cyclists will be allowed to ride on base during the event.


  • Day of registration is from 6:30am – 9:30am
  • Bib/t-shirt pick-up, chip pick up for Mateo Mountain Challenge, and waiver drop-off is from 6:30am – 9:30am
  • There are food/rest/aid station stops on the course and the finish line:
    • The Pulgas/Basilone stop is at miles 12, 36, 60, and 84. Gatorade, water, and light snacks are available throughout the day with lunch served from 11:00am – 1:30pm.
    • The Stewart Mesa/Vandergrift stop has Gatorade, water, and light snacks only and is at miles 24, 48, and 72.
  • There will also be two mobile aid station vehicles and mechanical support on the course throughout the day.
  • NOTE: For those who signed up for the ½ mile Mateo Mountain Challenge, the climb starts quickly – at mile 1.25, please warm up accordingly!
  • Ride maps: we have basic GoogleEarth maps showing elevation on our website but we do not have course downloadable maps. Please visit our website to view the course or give our office a call if you have more questions. The course is basic with some rolling hills but also some challenging climbs to keep everyone honest!

RACE SCHEDULE (subject to change)

Riders may begin their ride anytime during the designated ride start “window”. To alleviate congestion, there will not be a mass start for any rides with the exception of the Family Fun Ride. We ask that everyone make an effort to spread out, be courteous to other riders and cars, and ride single file in the bike lanes. This is NOT a closed course and ALL participants must yield to ALL vehicles and obey ALL traffic laws. All riders must be off the course by 4:00pm 

  • Ride Start for 100 mile: 7:00am – 7:30am
  • Ride Start for 75 mile: 7:30 – 8:00am
  • Ride Start for 50 mile: 8:00am – 8:30am
  • Ride Start for 25 mile: 8:30am – 9:00am
  • Family Fun Ride Start: 10:00am
  • Awards ceremony for Mateo Mountain Challenge: 1:30pm (if you are the winner, we will hold your award for you)
