1. Submit signed application (spouse and applicant) to the Family Child Care office between Mon–Fri: 8am-4pm. Include the following when turning in your application packet:
   • Copy of H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required
   • $40 – Non-refundable Registration Fee (cash not accepted)
   • If CPR and First Aid is needed please bring $70 (cash not accepted) to your pre-screening interview
2. Submit Federal background check/fingerprints and local background checks (Family Advocacy and Provost Marshal’s Office) for the applicant, spouse, and any other individual over the age of 18 living in the home
3. Schedule a pre-screening interview with FCC Director or Monitors
4. Attend 40-hour certification class with Family Child Care Training
   • Classes are normally Mon–Fri, last full week of the month
   • If you have a current CPR and First Aid then you will not need to attend the last two days of the training

Once background checks are completed and approved, you will then start the certification process for your home:

• Occupational Health Physical with Occupational Health (Naval Hospital)
• Obtain an Animal Health Certificate if pets are in the home
• Sanitation Inspection conducted by Preventive Medicine Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton
• Fire Inspection conducted by Camp Pendleton Fire Department
• Safety Inspection conducted by MCCS Safety Officer
• Annual Inspection conducted by FCC staff
• Quality Review Board will review applicant and determine suitability
